The activities are based on a strategy of encouraging learners to identify what they already know about a topic before approaching new material. Indigenous family members have a wealth of first hand knowledge, especially about the impacts of hearing loss on family life. 

 

Experience shows that helping indigenous family members and workers to identify the social consequences of hearing loss can be a powerful motivator for action to prevent ear disease as well as to address its consequences.
